RGS joins the European project RE-ENERGIZE

We are pleased to announce the signing of the Grand Agreement within the RE-ENERGIZE project, part of the LIFE-2023-CET-HEATPUMPS programme. This is the first new project initiated after the new President, Ban Horia, took over the leadership of RGS in 2023.

Project details:

Programme: LIFE-2023-CET (LIFE Clean Energy Transition)

Topic: LIFE-2023-CET-HEATPUMPS

Proposal number: 101166359

Acronym: Re-Energize

Title: Empowering Green Transition through Capacity Building and Raise Awareness for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency – “Re-Energize”

Duration: 3 years (2024-2027)

Objective: Increasing the number of qualified installers and enhancing the trust of end-users to achieve the EU climate and energy objectives and implement the European Green Deal.

Project description:

The RE-ENERGIZE project addresses the climate crisis and environmental degradation by facilitating the transition to green technologies, with a particular focus on heat pumps. Although progress has been made in the legislative and policy areas, the EU still faces major environmental and climate challenges that affect both the ecosystem and the well-being of citizens. A significant shift towards sustainable energy practices is needed to meet international commitments and achieve a climate-neutral economy. This includes promoting energy efficiency, adopting renewable energy sources and increasing the deployment of heat pumps. However, a shortage of qualified professionals and existing market barriers hinder progress.

Specific objectives:

Market needs analysis and strategic action planning
Development of training frameworks to improve training and skills in renewable heating/cooling technologies
Creation of an integrated digital tool to support the adoption of energy efficient solutions
Training of at least 385 construction professionals and 115 trainers, promoting the installation of heat pumps and energy efficiency
Raising public awareness on the sustainable energy transition
Collaboration with public and private stakeholders to ensure the long-term impact of the project and the replication of the results
